Vivaann's Contribution for the people affected by Chennai floods
Vivaann's Contribution for
the people affected by Chennai floods
Having dealt with the crisis in the aftermath of HUD HUD, we
at Vivaann know the importance of relief work after such disasters. Having
worked at the time of HUD HUD with the HUD HUD Champs taught us an important
lesson as how effective citizens initiatives can be in the aftermath of such
disasters and so we made a small contribution in the relief work after the
Chennai floods. We gave Rs. 15000 worth of necessary items like food, water and
medicine to a group bound for Chennai with relief materials from Vizag."Chitrakala" at SOS Village Visakhapatnam
"Chitrakala"
at SOS Village Visakhapatnam
Chitrakala" is a drawing competition for the kids that we conduct each year, this time around we went to the SOS village after a long time. It was a great experience for all the members of Vivaann to see the the little ones create their masterpieces. The SOS Village is a wonderful place to be in and a great example of how an organisation can truly make an impact on the lives of many people. Their system of operation is something of envy for all NGOs working with kids. Stay tuned to see the masterpieces by the little Picasos and
Michael Angelos.
Christmas celebration at BC boys hostel
Christmas
celebration at BC boys hostel 25th December 2015
On 25th december we went to cheppalupada boys
hostel to celebrate christmas with the children. It started with the narration
of stories behind celebrating christmas and the birth of jesus christ. We told
them about Santa Claus and after that played cricket with them. Then the
children were made to cut the cake and gifts such as chocolates, pens, pencils,
drawing books and pastel for the younger kids and some books for the elder ones
were distributed. Before the children went for their lunch they danced for some
time. The day, overall, with the kids was splendid and well spent. It was a
matter of pride that we could gift those children a joyful day.
"Chirunavvutho" Dental Camp
"Chirunavvutho"
Dental Camp

"Chirunavvutho"
in telugu language means "The perfect smile" ... We organised a
dental camp at the Andhra Pradesh Residential School for Girls in Bheemili on
14th of March 2016 with the objective of providing a free dental checkup for
all the students of the school and spread awareness about maintaining dental
hygiene among the students. There were around 300 students who came for the
dental checkup. While most didnot have any serious dental condition there
seemed to be a widespread problem of "fluorosis" among the students
which is mostly because of high fluoride content in the ground water they are
using for all purposes. The management of the school were informed to look into
this matter and arrange for purified water for drinking purposes as this problem
can have serious future consequences. We thank the faculty and management of
GITAM Dental College for their kind co-operation in providing the necessary
doctors and other medical supplies and the doctors who devoted their valuable
time for the noble cause. We look forward in enabling the students with some
serious dental conditions to seek further treatment at the GITAM Dental
College, the authorities of which has promised free treatment for all students.
